Every really good CEO recreates him or herself within their organization over and over again. The boss surrounds themselves with winners! People who are creative, energetic, who have fresh ideas and new and interesting points of view, who want the company to grow and succeed. No CEO does it all alone!
When a CEO finds these wonderful, loyal and trusted employees, they must not forget their value to the company. Too often the CEO forgets where the “Big Idea” came from. Much too often the creative employee is forgotten, no thank you, no raise, no acknowledgement! Sooner or later your superstar will move on to a CEO and company that will appreciate the genius behind the person.
Don’t ever take credit for your employee’s idea or creation! Give them full credit; give them a raise and all the bells and whistles. They deserve it! A happy employee will stay with your company; an employee who trusts you will stay with your company.
Any good leader surrounds themselves with winners! The best of the best! If they are really excellent leaders, they can coach employees into being the best, as long as they have the basic qualities needed for the particular company. Have you ever looked at a really successful person and asked yourself who the people are who stand behind them that make them so successful? It’s like being on the offensive line of a football team. The quarterback gets all the credit, but without the offensive line doing an excellent job, the quarterback can’t do anything.
A good leader never steals from other companies, copying their ideas, their products, services, names. That is a real loser move! Real champions are original with unique concepts and ideas. They don’t have to put down other companies or their leaders. They don’t need to play the game of dirty politics. They focus all of their time on their goals and objectives.
Winners always have solid action plans or business plans based on tried, tested, and proven principles. They take calculated risks to be the best of the best in their respective industry. They utilize all of their assets to achieve their goals. Losing is not an option! Everything from engagement through disengagement is about quality and detail. Nothing is overlooked or unimportant. Everyone and everything matters to every employee of the company from top to bottom.
Years ago business owners found out that the biggest variable that made a difference to clients if products and services were similar was customer service. The company that had the best customer service was successful. Most of the other companies are no longer in existence. When markets became even more challenging, the more intelligent CEOs realized that employees were also customers of the corporations. The facts showed on the company’s profit and loss statement as their bottom line improved.
